FAIR LAWN – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, announced the release of his first digital advertisement “Priorities” that will run as part of a five-figure digital buy targeting voters in the district.
 
The advertisement juxtaposes comments made by incumbent Democrat Josh Gottheimer describing the baseball lockout as the “worst thing for the country” with real problems affecting CD5 families, including soaring food and gas prices, along with rising crime and the devastating learning loss experienced by students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The comments appeared on the “New Jersey Globe Power Hour” program last Saturday, and since the interview aired, the average price of gasoline in the district has risen by almost a dollar.
 
“I like baseball, too. But Josh’s tone-deaf comment in the face of everything families in our district are facing right now demonstrates just how out-of-touch he is with the people he purports to serve. The Congressman, who has refused to join me in calling on all CD5 candidates to support a ban on stock trading for Members of Congress, has been recently featured in news reports as a prolific day trader. While he may not realize that the sticker shock at the gas pump and the grocery store is sending families here into sheer panic, I do, and I will go to Washington to pump the brakes on the out-of-control Biden agenda.” – Nick De Gregorio
