Press Release: De Gregorio Slams Gottheimer Meddling in CD5 Primary

May 7, 2022

Calls on Pallotta to Disavow Mailer Promoting Him Paid for by Liberal Special Interests

FAIR LAWN – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, issued the following statement in response to a new mail piece sent to Republican primary voters – and paid for by Josh Gottheimer – that favorably featured his Republican primary opponent Frank Pallotta. To be clear: former President Donald Trump has not endorsed Frank Pallotta, but Josh Gottheimer now has. The piece was sent following a media-sponsored debate where De Gregorio was the only CD5 primary candidate to appear, bringing further scrutiny to the Pallotta campaign.

“It is clear who Josh Gottheimer wants to win this Republican primary – and it’s not the guy who served his country in four tours overseas and is now calling on him and others to sell off their stock portfolios to clean up Washington,” said De Gregorio.

He continued, “For years, Democrats like Josh Gottheimer talked ad nauseam about Russian interference in our elections. Now Josh, who consistently presents himself as a bipartisan, common sense Democrat who’s above the fray, is using liberal special interest money to wage his own Putin-style disinformation campaign to confuse Republican primary voters about who the true conservative leader in this race is. It’s dead wrong — and if Josh is the statesman he claims to be, he will immediately stop any spending in the CD5 Republican primary. I also call on my opponent, Frank Pallotta, to immediately disavow Gottheimer’s attempt to put his thumb on the scale in this race.”

De Gregorio concluded, “Josh is running scared with good reason. He knows that the cost of food and gas, along with the Biden Administration’s abject failure to secure the border and support our cops is indefensible here. But here’s a message for you, Josh, man-to-man: I will never stop fighting for the future of this country against gutless cowards like you.

Press Release:   De Gregorio Raises $309,000 in Q1, Bringing Election Cycle Total to Over $700,000

April 15, 2022

Marine Veteran boasts 10,000 unique donors in first bid to unseat Gottheimer

Fair Lawn – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, announced that he will report $309,503.29 on his April Quarterly Report with $454,466.25 cash on hand. De Gregorio’s strong numbers follow a critical late-March win at the Bergen County Republican Convention that earned him the coveted party line in a county that now makes up 81% of the new district. The first-time candidate has now raised in total over $700,000 from 10,000 unique donors, highlighting De Gregorio’s local appeal and unique ability in the Republican field to attract national investment.

“I could not be more grateful for the supporters who have put their faith in us to take on a Congressman who votes with Nancy Pelosi for the disastrous Biden Agenda over 90% of the time. Our fundraising strength and national endorsements, coupled with our decisive win at the Bergen County Republican Convention this quarter demonstrate the unparalleled organization of our team in both resourcing the campaign and winning voters. We will continue to build an effort that holds Gottheimer accountable for the inflation that is crushing New Jersey families and an out-of-control southern border that threatens our communities with rising crime and illegal drugs.” – Nick De Gregorio

Press Release: De Gregorio: After Kremlin Sanctions, Gottheimer Must Choose Between Conflicted Russian Business Interests and Constituents

April 14, 2022

Again calls for Republicans Pallotta and Schneiderman to join him in Stock Ban pledge

Fair Lawn – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, issued the following statement in response to new reports that the Kremlin has issued retaliatory sanctions against incumbent Democratic Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s business interests in Russian companies.

“Josh needs to immediately decide what he cares about more: his reputation as the most active day trader in Congress or his representation of New Jersey families in the Fifth District. This perfectly illustrates the conflict of interest that we have been the first and only candidate to call out among the Republican primary field: our elected representatives should not be in positions where their stock ownership makes them vulnerable to manipulation from hostile foreign powers or any other business interest. It’s long past the time for Josh to give up his stock portfolio and for my Republican opponents to do the same.” – Nick De Gregorio

Press Release: De Gregorio Scores Overwhelming Win Amid Blockbuster Turnout at Bergen County Convention

March 23, 2022

First-time candidate won with a nearly 200 vote margin over previous nominee

FAIR LAWN – Tonight, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, released the following statement in response to his decisive victory at the Bergen County Republican Organization’s (“BCRO”) Annual Convention.

The vote count was as follows:

Nick De Gregorio: 302
Frank Pallotta: 116
Fred Schneiderman: 15
Seb Skenderi: 3

“I am honored beyond words to have received overwhelming support from the place I have called home for my entire life. For months, our campaign of grassroots supporters has worked tirelessly to earn the votes of the Bergen County Committee through hundreds of hours of door knocking and phone calls. Both our success tonight and the enormous turnout at the Convention point to the kind of momentum that will fuel our campaign to victory in the primary and ultimately against Josh Gottheimer this fall. We will proudly fight for Bergen County communities against the Biden-Gottheimer inflationary agenda all the way to victory this November. We will need all hands on deck to defeat Josh Gottheimer, and I ask my primary opponents to join me in this next phase of this critical campaign.” – Nick De Gregorio

De Gregorio, as winner of the BCRO County Convention, has earned a key position on the Republican Party blind in the June primary. In the newly-drawn Fifth Congressional District, Bergen County makes up over 80% of the population, and success there will be crucial to prevailing in both the primary and general elections

De Gregorio had previously won the recommendation of over 70% of the BCRO Policy Committee and was recently named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s (“NRCC”) Young Guns “On the Radar” recruitment and support program.

Press Release: De Gregorio Wins Only CD5 Debate

March 21, 2022

First-time candidate offered clearest vision for beating Josh Gottheimer in November

FAIR LAWN – Tonight, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, released the following statement after the CD5 forum offered by several Bergen County Republican Clubs in Woodcliff Lake concluded:

“Tonight, I was proud to outline my vision for protecting the country we know and love for not only my two precious children, but also for every future generation of Americans. We will do this by going to Washington, D.C. and putting the brakes on the Biden-Gottheimer agenda that has sent inflation soaring and left us dependent on hostile nations for our energy consumption. When Fifth District families need to make hard choices at the gas pump and grocery store, it limits the potential for everyone to succeed and imperils the type of risk-taking and innovation that creates generational wealth,” said De Gregorio.

He continued, “While outlining a positive vision, it was also imperative to arm Bergen County Committee members with the facts going into such a critical election. The bottom line is that with over 80% of the population center anchored in Bergen County, we simply cannot afford to lose it again to Josh Gottheimer by double digits. This election is our opportunity to reverse the disastrous course of the last year for the Fifth District, and primary voters need the facts – not more empty promises.”

In the debate, De Gregorio affirmed his support for lowering energy costs through the responsible domestic energy production, including fossil fuels, his opposition to Biden’s “Build Back Better” inflationary spending spree, and his commitment to delivering true relief to overtaxed Fifth District families.

The first-time candidate also cited key factors for winning against the incumbent Democrat in the fall, including his national recognition, as well as his position as the CD5 Republican fundraising leader.

De Gregorio will compete in the Bergen County Republican Organization (“BCRO”) County Convention this Wednesday, March 23rd after winning the recommendation of over 70% of the BCRO Policy Committee.

De Gregorio has received the recommendation of the Bergen County Republican Organization (“BCRO”) Policy Committee ahead of this week’s County Convention, as well as the support of the Frontline Patriots PAC. He was also recently named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Gun: “On the Radar” recruitment and support program.

Press Release: De Gregorio Endorsed by Frontline Patriots PAC

March 17, 2022

FAIR LAWN – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, announced that he had received the endorsement of the Frontline Patriots PAC.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Frontline Patriots PAC as being part of the next generation of veterans who will add a dynamic, new dimension of leadership to Congress. It is no surprise to me that an alarming rise in global uncertainty that directly affects families here at home coincides with an all-time low rate of veteran representation in Washington. I am proud to step up and be a part of the solution.” – Nick De Gregorio

De Gregorio recently received the recommendation of the Bergen County Republican Organization (“BCRO”) Policy Committee ahead of next week’s County Convention and was named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Gun: “On the Radar” recruitment and support program.

According to the Frontline Patriots PAC:

Frontline Patriots seek to promote and elect principled, conservative veteran leadership to congress.

Veterans are some of the best leaders in America. They have a deep understanding of courage, conviction, and love of country that only true service can bring.

Yet today, veteran representation in Congress is at an all time low.

In a time where the values of our great nation are under attack more than ever before, we need veteran leaders to remind us of what America is really about: service, grit, and dedication to our communities.

The Republican Party needs a new generation of veteran leaders who put service over self.

We need leaders who are unafraid to stand up for the American principles they fought to protect.

We need leaders who put our citizens first, which is why we’re working to elect veterans across the country who will take their spirit of service from the battlefield to the halls of Congress.

Veteran leaders are the future of our great nation, and we hope you’ll join us in electing conservative veterans who will always defend the American dream.

NJ Globe: De Gregorio launches first digital spot

March 9, 2022

Ad hits Gottheimer comments on baseball lockout

Nick De Gregorio, the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in New Jersey’s 5th congressional district, released his campaign’s first digital ad today in his campaign against Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff).

The ad slams Gottheimer for comments the congressman made on the New Jersey Globe Power Hour last weekend. Gottheimer was asked whether Congress should get involved in the ongoing Major League Baseball lockout; his response was that “the worst thing for the country would be if, when the masks are coming off and people are going back to life, there wasn’t any baseball.”

Against a backdrop of various news stories on violent crime, inflation, spiking gas prices, and student learning loss, the ad asks whether the loss of baseball is really “the worst thing for the country” and calls Gottheimer “completely out of touch.”

“I like baseball, too,” De Gregorio said in a statement accompanying the ad. “But Josh’s tone-deaf comment in the face of everything families in our district are facing right now demonstrates just how out-of-touch he is with the people he purports to serve.”

De Gregorio faces two opponents, 2020 nominee Frank Pallotta and businessman Fred Schneiderman, in the June primary. His $403,000 raised during the fourth quarter and his placement on the National Republican Campaign Committee’s “On the Radar” list mean he’s in good shape to win that contest, but Gottheimer has amassed a colossal $12 million war chest and is running for re-election in a district drawn to be more Democratic than the one he held in previous cycles.

Press Release: De Gregorio Releases First Digital Ad of Cycle: “Priorities”

Only CD5 Republican with Paid Advertising Up Targeting Gottheimer

WATCH Nick’s new ad!
FAIR LAWN – Today, Nick De Gregorio, a Marine Veteran – who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – and Republican Candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, announced the release of his first digital advertisement “Priorities” that will run as part of a five-figure digital buy targeting voters in the district.

The advertisement juxtaposes comments made by incumbent Democrat Josh Gottheimer describing the baseball lockout as the “worst thing for the country” with real problems affecting CD5 families, including soaring food and gas prices, along with rising crime and the devastating learning loss experienced by students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The comments appeared on the “New Jersey Globe Power Hour” program last Saturday, and since the interview aired, the average price of gasoline in the district has risen by almost a dollar.

“I like baseball, too. But Josh’s tone-deaf comment in the face of everything families in our district are facing right now demonstrates just how out-of-touch he is with the people he purports to serve. The Congressman, who has refused to join me in calling on all CD5 candidates to support a ban on stock trading for Members of Congress, has been recently featured in news reports as a prolific day trader. While he may not realize that the sticker shock at the gas pump and the grocery store is sending families here into sheer panic, I do, and I will go to Washington to pump the brakes on the out-of-control Biden agenda.” – Nick De Gregorio

Press Release: ICYMI De Gregorio is Taking on Gottheimer, All CD5 Candidates on Stock Trades

March 7, 2022

No one should profit from public service – period.

De Gregorio hits Gottheimer on reported Russian-tied stocks
Joey Fox | New Jersey Globe
March 7, 2022

Nick De Gregorio, a Republican running for Congress in the 5th district, slammed Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) late last week over a report by Insider that Gottheimer owns stocks in several Russian companies. “At a time when our democratic allies in Ukraine are being hunted and slaughtered by the Russian army, Josh is personally invested in the oligarchic lifeline that allows Vladimir Putin to engage in this unchecked and unprovoked aggression against a free people,” De Gregorio said in a statement. “He needs to sell these assets immediately.”According to Insider, Gottheimer owns between $2,000 and $30,000 worth of depository receipts in Lukoil, a major Russian petroleum company, and between $1,000 and $15,000 in Russian internet services company Yandex.

Op-Ed: It’s time for Josh Gottheimer, the rest of Congress to stop trading stocks
Nick De Gregorio
Save Jersey

When I returned home from Afghanistan, I went back to school on the GI Bill and eventually found a job at a bank. It was an entry-level position, but even at the bottom of the corporate ladder, I had major restrictions placed on me when I wanted to buy or sell stock. It made a lot of sense: with more information than the average American at my fingertips, it would not have been fair for me to make certain investments and profit where others could not.

The information I had at the bank pales in comparison to the information Washington elites have at their disposal. And yet, they trade freely and shamelessly. Nancy Pelosi recently refused to hold a vote on bipartisan legislation that would have placed stock restrictions on our elected officials. My opponent, Josh Gottheimer, must have breathed a sigh of relief. Despite a salary of $174,000 as a representative of the Fifth Congressional District, Josh bought and sold over $60 million in call options last year. Not $60 million in his lifetime. Not $60 million during his six years in Congress. But $60 million last year alone. And now, it has come to light that Josh has been creating pop-up fundraising committees to funnel private equity money into his campaign coffers. Where is the honesty, the integrity, and the transparency that we, his constituents, deserve?
